I love holiday cards - everything about them , both giving and receiving. In all other months, Randy gets the mail from the mailbox...but not in December. That's my job! I love seeing the 5x7 or 4X7 cards in our mailbox. (the small joys in life!).
I enjoy picking the design, meticulous crafting and re-crafting the greeting, analyzing fonts, sizes and colors and lastly, sending Randy to get "holiday-ish" stamps from the post office. Priceless is his confused look questioning what exactly qualifies as a holiday-ish stamp.
This year I was VERY excited to make our holiday cards. In past years it was Randy's preference that we just send traditional cards without pictures. Overall, I was pleased with our shipments of holiday cheer. However, this year, he changed his mind and approved the mailing of our first photo card as soon-to-be Schleichers!! Let the creative juices flow! The end result was shipped last week. The photo was a bit dark but, overall, I love how they turned out. Black & White - right up my alley!
My favorite card of 2009 so far is Kathy's. (tear!) It was a creative card that pulled at your heart strings. Her solider will be home in less than 50 days. Nice work, Hartman!
I find it funny that I'm already thinking of a clever play on words for next year's card as Mr. & Mrs. Nope, not sharing my ideas! If I plan my dates and priorities right, the card can print while we're honeymooning. Upon our return, I can ship in time to spread holiday cheer. It's going to be fab!
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of our holiday greeting cards arrive in the next couple weeks!

December 10, 2009 at 10:02 PMYour card is so adorable Anni. I think we share a common love of stationary! Who took the picture for you guys? So cute! Our card will be coming shortly. I ordered the cards in October and decided I didn't like them at the end of November and finally received them in the mail today! Lesson learned on doing Christmas cards too early...
