In October I was driving for a reception site visit in Lake Geneva when I received a call from Lindsay. My first thought: it's 9am - why is she calling so early? (very uncharacteristic). But for good reason, she called to announce she and Mike were pregnant and the baby was due in June. Baby Kukla! Then, Lindsay announced she would still be able to drink at my bachelorette party, provided it was scheduled in the fall :) too funny!


Fast forward seven months...


According to the doctors, Baby Jack will arrive in very early June. In contrast, his mom bets he'll make an appearance in about three weeks. I am really sad that I might miss his first couple days because of a scheduled trip. I secretly wish her labor to start and end on Friday, May 28. She said she'll work on that for me.

I'm very excited to become an honorary aunt. Yes, it's a self-applied title; but it fits. After knowing Lindsay for more than two decades, we both have earned this title for our kiddos. Two decades of sleepovers, bike rides, trips, and so many memories to recall. Even though I live 90 miles away from him, I'll be the best honorary aunt EVER.


Here are a couple pictures of Jack (at 25 weeks) and his family. Lindsay has her final ultrasound this afternoon. I'll be sure to post a picture of 35 week Jack as soon as she sends it.

Happy soon-to-be birthday Baby Jack. I can't wait to meet you.
