I called Rebekka at Crystal Bride today wishing to schedule my first dress try-on. Back in November I tried on their sample that led to a big purchase. But it's now time to try on my dress. After scheduling the appointment, our conversation and chit-chat was nearing the end when Rebekka snuck in a standard request that managed to throw me off guard...
"Don't forget to bring your shoes"
My mind froze...shoes? SHOES? I haven't even thought about shoes. Our wedding is more than 5 months away - don't I have time to buy shoes in October? Silly Anni - when have you ever purchased something floor length (dresses/pants) that didn't need to be shortened at least five inches in order to fit appropriately? Obviously the same holds true for a wedding dress. Shoes are mission-critical when altering clothes.
Realizing that I have one more item added to the growing to-do list, I quickly started my google search for the perfect shoe. Searches included "Most comfortable bridal shoes", "stylish bridal shoes", "cranberry bridal shoes", "white bride shoes" and of course I scoured ebay for an affordable pair of manolo blahnik shoes. Sadly, there was no such luck ... a girl can dream, right? Should I go with cranberry shoes to show personality or stay the mainstream with white? Should height of heel or comfort be deciding factors? So many decisions...

This I do know:
- Because it is winter, we'll opt for a closed-toe or peep-toe shoe
- Heel height will be (at minimum) two inches. After all, I'm only 5'3''
- Personality will be reflected in the shoe color, style or both!
