About two weeks ago Randy and I took vacation days to ride our bikes from Verona, WI to Dodgeville, WI and back. The planned 60 mile ride would take all day - stopping only for lunch. Needless to say, it didn't go quite as planned. Around mile 24 Randy accidentally clipped my back tire and gear shift causing him to fall and my bike to break.
We attempted to continue the ride but this caused the bike to stop completely - and not move. We were 2 miles from the town behind us and one mile from the next town in front of us. With the chain disconnected, Randy pulled me over a mile to Ridgeway, WI - likely the smallest town I'd ever been in.
Being 30 miles from our car, we had to wait for the next police officer's shift to start - in two hours. Luckily I had my camera to keep me busy. The officer was kind enough to drive us back to Verona to retrieve the car. Then we had to drive back to the small town to get our bikes.
We finally returned to our hotel and headed out to dinner in New Glarus, WI. The next day we went on a wine tasting and explored the Cave of the Mounds before heading home. It's always an adventure with Randy! We had a great time :)
